Why does the new update disable my internet security?
I use Kaspersky Total Security, and the Firefox update says it has disabled it because it is "unsigned".

The completely separate Kaspersky anti-virus software installed on your Windows 7 is not touched in any way by this and should still be functioning normally.
The Kaspersky extension to be accurate needs to be signed.
A workaround to try for Firefox 43.0 until Kaspersky fixes their extension is to type about:config in Location (address) bar. Filter for xpinstall.signatures.required and double-click the preference, or right-click and selected "Toggle", to set it to false.

Firefox automatically disabled unsigned addons for user security.

Please consider advising the addon developer about the issue, so that they can get their addon signed as soon as possible.
I don't want to open my browser to all unsigned programs, just my security. It doesn't make sense that to protect user security, you disable my Kaspersky security. I will try to contact Kaspersky about it.
Unfortunately, there is no way to allow a single unsigned addon on Firefox. Also, Firefox cannot distinguish which addons are valid (like security programs) and which ones are not. That is the purpose of addon signing, so that Firefox will be able to know what addons are valid and what ones are not.
If you advise Kaspersky about this issue, I'm sure that they will get their addon signed.

I am having the same issue with another app. They said they've fixed the issue but now the FF folks have to verify this on their end. So don't be shy, contact the developer!

It's up to the developer's of 3rd party applications to submit their application to Mozilla for verification and signing.
Happy to say everyone is on the same page now, thanks to all who gave advice. Hope both apps are up and running soon!
