works in windows 10, doesn't work in ubuntu
New to this so may be simple answer - I hope. Trying ubuntu from bootable USB. Firefox opens but will not go anywhere, "server not found", will not even go to my router. Booting up in windows 10, everything internet works fine in all browsers.

Make sure to check your system proxy settings in Ubuntu. Firefox uses it by default for new installs, so that setting needs to be valid.
If you don’t have or use a system proxy, either correct the Ubuntu system proxy settings or set Firefox to use No proxy instead of "Use system proxy settings". See Connection settings in Firefox for more info.
Thanks Tonnes... No luck at first, but U got me looking through all settings. These were identical for FF in both systems. Went round in circles for a couple hours and then a breakthrough....machine went to sleep mode, and when I woke it, it started connecting and wowser. Must be some kind of initialisation issue ; anyhows, gloriously happy to be escaping W10 :) thanX, mikkee
