download helper doesn't work after the new update.
Before this latest update, I could download videos with download helper. Now with this latest update, downdload helper doesn't work. Click on the icon and click on download and nothing. I would see a green progress bar on the Mozilla icon in the tool bar. Now nothing. I tried reinstalling download helper and it still doesn't work.

Perhaps just use the Firefox ESR (52) version for now? https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/
And turn off automatic updates if you don't want to get the broken version of Firefox again. Turning off automatic updates can be done in Tools->Options->Advanced->Update Or go to about:config and search for app.update.auto and turn it off.
I guess the Download Helper extension wasn't updated to work with the new release of Firefox, hence why it wouldn't work.
With the new release of Firefox, thousands of extensions stopped working. Only a small amount work anymore.
There are many Extensions called Download Helper, these are all compatible with Firefox 57 https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/tag/download%20helper Need to provide proper URL to your Extension to know what is going on.
What is happening here : copy/paste about:addons into your Address Bar and then Enter. It will default right to Legacy... What is going on there with your Download Helper ?
