How do I roll back to the previous version of Firefox, 5.7 ls terrible! It still has issues, is slower on my laptop than the previous version and I just don't like the look! I've always championed Firefox as the best browser, but now I'm not so sure! I think I may have to start looking for a better browser!

These are the steps I did in my Windows 10 to revert to older version from Firefox 57 Quantum, and prevent the older version from updating again. 1 In the address bar type about:preferences#general then press <enter>, then at the 'Allow Firefox to' heading select this [Never check for updates]. Unselect [Use a background service to install updates]. 2 (optional, just in case something goes wrong) Backup profile folder by following the [Backing up your profile] section steps at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles 3 In Windows 'add or remove programs', uninstall Mozilla Firefox 4 Download 56.0.2 from https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/56.0.2/ (or other older versions from https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/ ) 5 Disconnect from the internet (unplug ethernet cable) 6 Install 56.0.2 7 Open Firefox 56.0.2 and do this step. In the address bar type about:preferences#general then press <enter>, then at the 'Allow Firefox to' heading select this [Never check for updates]. Unselect [Use a background service to install updates]. 8 If bookmarks does not appear, follow the restore steps here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/restore-bookmarks-from-backup-or-move-them 9 Connect to internet. 10 Done, everything should be working fine like the previous version Firefox 56.0.2.

Some people mention that Firefox 56.0.2 has security issues and they recommend Firefox ESR 52.5.0 https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/ , If you want Firefox ESR 52.5.0 you can replace step 4 to download Firefox ESR 52.5.0 from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/ and skip step 1 and 7. Firefox ESR 52.5.0 will be updated until Jun 2018, source https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/faq/ Firefox ESR 52.5.0 looks the same like normal firefox except some newer addon versions may not work. You may need to go to the addon download page to reinstall the older addon version that works with Firefox 52.5.0

Add info: Uninstalling Firefox does not delete/remove the profile folder, history, bookmarks or addons... When you reinstall Firefox, the firefox will use the same profile folder, history, bookmarks or addons. Yes. Thanks.

At step 1 and 7 do this too, unselect [Use a background service to install updates]

I have edited my post and added "Unselect [Use a background service to install updates]" to step 1 and 7.

This new Firefox is the slowest browser I ever saw...full of issues, I'm using Firefox for more than 8 years and now is the first time I'm considering to switch to something else....only thing stops me are data I have saved in firefox...I'm programmer my self for more than 15 years and can't understand anyone would publish this as stable version..performance is not even 50% of the previous version...
