Large Memory Usage with Firefox 56
I have been using FF 56 for a while now. It has been good until the last few days, which was the time when 57.0 came out. My FF 56 has been using extremely high memory usage, sometimes it's up to 3 GB! I have to restart FF several times in order for it to be useful, as when it went up to 3GB, it freezed for a few minutes.
Nothing has been changed with my FF for more than a year now, same add-ons and same profile. Did Mozilla do something to FF 56 causing this problem, in order to force the users to upgrade to FF 57?
No, I don't want to use FF 57 because all of my legacy add-ons will be gone. I am staying with FF 56. But if Mozilla is the one causing this problem, shame on you!
Any suggestions and/or comments are appreciated.

We have made no changes to Firefox 56.
You should not stay on an out of date version, it has known security issues and will only become less safe as time goes on.
What legacy add-ons are preventing you from upgrading?
Thank you, Tyler Downer, for your response.
Unfortunately, you did not reply to my issue about the memory conusmption. I have been using FF since its first version came out so I basically know when and why I should upgrade.
I have a few add-ons and I have been watching which ones will be migrated to FF 57, so far, not many.
I am one of those users who love FF because of the ability to use all those add-ons. Now FF is trying to become another Chrome, it has defeated all its purposes. That's just my opinion.
You said 56 is having high memory. 56 is no longer supported so we want to get you onto 57 which is both safer, faster and supported!
As I mentioned before, I have been using FF 56 since it came out and it had never consumed that much memory like those in the last few days, UNTIL FF 57 came out. Supported or not, that makes no difference. I have been using FF for many many years, I know when it's a real issue or not.
Can you tell me what add-ons are keeping you from updating to 57?
