Twitch on laptop 80%+ CPU usage on 720p
So for some reason, twitch on Firefox (on my laptop only) uses almost all of my available CPU for no reason, even on 720p. It's not a scrub laptop either (well, medium range, but w/e)...
Specs: i5 3337U @ 1.8Ghz 8GB RAM GeForce GT 720M
Its not the best, but i ONLY use this laptop to watch movies and streams, so it's fine for me.
I could watch 1080p streams with the exact same setup on Chrome without it using more than 15% CPU, so it's really strange. Not even with the Twitch 5 extension (which i heard is a less resourceful player), it's still using 80%+ CPU all the time...
Any ideas what to do? I haven't even switched back to Firefox in less than a week, so it's not that...

Ok, so i updated all my drivers and it decreased the average cpu usage to around 40-50%. It's still alot, but at least better than before. Enabling chat in a busy channel, however, ramps it back up to around 80% (i usually have it disabled)...
Would help to decrease it further so i could watch 1080p again.

In the Twitch player you could click on the Gear > Advanced > HTML5 so it will change to the old Flash Player fallback if you have current NPAPI Flash Player installed on system.
Another option is to try Streamlink with the Twitch gui. This will allow you to open stream at source you want in a external media player. The gui makes it easier to do over using the CLi. https://streamlink.github.io/ https://streamlink.github.io/streamlink-twitch-gui/

Done the HTML5 thingy and still no deal (its even worse). Streamlink is a no go, because i have no way to access my computer once i start watching a stream (since the laptop is hooked to my TV), unless i actually walk to the laptop. So far, the only thing that have worked is to not use Firefox at al (eg using a twitch app from the microsoft store or switch back to chrome), which will probably what i have to do if this does not get resolved.
