When I try to sign in to sites where more than one user's information is recognized, the user info and password dropdown menus appear then quickly disappear, not letting me select. The information is there but cannot be accessed using the cursor since it is not there when the cursor arrives.

In the userbox, type a letter. Anything?
The saved names appear briefly but disappear. I can type in the name I want but then need to enter the password manually. It will then load the site and does not ask if I want to remember the password. The problem appears to be related to the persistence of the image of the information, not whether the information is in memory.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
- do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

Are you able to open the context menu (ctrl+space) and use "Fill Login" and "Fill Password" ?
Are you using another password program/add-on? Disable it.
I am not using a password program. Restarting in Safe mode and/or turning off extensions makes no difference. I can use the control + space to get to the login information and will use this as a workaround.

As a Windows user, I'm not familiar with Ctrl+Space. We would use one of the following if the drop-down list closes prematurely:
- down arrow key or Alt+down arrow
- tab to the next field then Shift+Tab back to re-trigger the drop-down
If your form field drop-downs keep closing unexpectedly, that would be worth investigating as a more general problem.
