Thunderbird E-mail Threads `unweaving'
In the past, my Thunderbird program tended to keep the various threads of an original e-mail and its derivations together in a grouping in the message subject lines. More recently however, I have noticed that if I forward an e-mail to someone for an opinion, when it is returned to me, it does not end up below the original e-mail, but rather may be a few places or a few dozen positions further along the e-mail's chronological sorting display.
Is there a particular choice in the "threads" section of the view menu that would help bring the original message and any subsequent iterations back together in one grouping?
Thanks, in advance.
Frank

I conducted a series of tests which involved sending the same e-mail to persons with laptops, iPhones and Android phones, then receiving replies form them.
1. With Laptops, both PC and Mac, the replies always threaded to the original message I forwarded to individuals.
2. With Android phones, the replies always threaded to the original message I forwarded to those individuals.
3. With iPhones, the replies refused to thread to the original message I forwarded to those individuals. It came back as a “re”, but did not end up near the original message I sent as an “fwd”.
The problem is that, up until a few months ago, replies from iPhones behaved the same as laptops and Android phones. Now they don't. What can be done to correct this?
