Please can you help to sort out the issue below...

For I do not why reason my thunderbird stopped working, the error message is

" Thunderbird is already running, but is not responding. The old Thunderbird process must be closed to open a new window " I tried to stop the old Thunderbird using Task manager but cant find it running.

Now, I saved the Profiles of the initial Thunderbird located in xxx/ Appdata /Roamnig/ Thunderbird/... - I uninstalled the old Thunderbird and Installed a new version ( cant remember the version number of the initial one) , I copied the profiles in the newly created directory xxx/ Appdata /Roamnig/ Thunderbird/ ... but got the same error message.

I get stuck here. any help would be highly appreciated thanks lorand

Does it help if you delete the parent.lock file from the profile?
