For whatever reason the Thunderbird programme files are stored on my D: drive and the profile folders are on the C: drive. I would like to have the Programme files also on the C: drive. If I uninstall it from the D: and install a new copy on the C: drive, will it automatically 'see' the profiles folder and will I have to set up user accounts or does the profile contain these? 64bit Windows 10 Pro and preparing to migrate to Windows 11 in the next year or so!

Your profile contains accounts and all data associated with them. See Profiles - Where Thunderbird stores your messages and other user data

Yes, it will automatically see your profiles as long as the ONLY thing you're moving are its program files.

Thank you Stans for your prompt, reassuring, reply! A follow up question; when I install T'bird onto the C: drive will I have to recreate the two accounts I currently enjoy (both imap), together with the contents of the Local Folders or are they stored within the profile? Although I've used, and enjoyed, T'bird for some time, this is a first for me.
