Mozilla Firefox keeps crashing, mostly at startup and if I do manage to get it running it crashes after a while. Doesn't respond anymore, and even the crash reporter crashes. I have tried the following things:

Clean up FF Reinstall and refresh (last attempt included deleting the entire Mozilla folder in Program Files) several times Updated Windows Restarted laptop after every reinstall attempt

It won't open in troubleshoot mode.

I am running Windows 10 on a Lenovo Thinkpad 540 laptop.

Additionally, neither Chrome nor Edge will let me access the Mozilla.org website. I downloaded the custom installer on my phone and uploaded it in Mydrive to get in onto my laptop.

Funny detail: I am in Belgium. I was in Ireland for a week last week and it didn't happen once. Got back home and trouble was back.

My husband is having the same issues, by the way.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

We're sorry to hear that your Firefox seems to be crashing when you open it. Please perform the following steps to give us a crash report ID that helps us find out more about the cause of the crash.

  1. On the keyboard, press [Windows] The image "Windows key" does not exist. + [R]. This should bring up a Run window that contains a text field.
  2. In that text field, type %APPDATA% and press Enter. An explorer window should open.
  3. From that explorer window, double-click on the Mozilla folder, then double-click on Firefox and then on Crash reports. Double-click on submitted.
  4. Now, you should see a list of files that contain reports. Go to View > Arrange Icons by > Modified to get the most recent files at the top of the window.
  5. Open the most recent 5 files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
  6. Paste each ID with bp- into the reply window on the forums.

Thanks in advance!

I had no issue using Chrome or Edge going to mozilla.org site. Sounds like if it didn't happen when you were in EU that it sounds like network issues there. If the issue was isolate to FF then the problem would've happen when you were in the EU as well.

I live in Belgium, which is also in the EU.

Thank you!

There is no folder 'submitted' in the folder 'Crash reports'. There is a folder 'pending' and a folder 'events' (that one is empty). There is a .log file called submit.log and that file has one line: "[Thu Jul 7 12:37:41 2022] Crash report submission failed: The operation completed successfully."

There is also a file called LastCrash that when opened with notepad produces the following number: 1657190201.

There is a long list of files that start with "InstallTime" followed by a date and a number.

Are any of these things ones that I should be posting with bp-?
