I have searched for "How to share tabs between profiles" in firefox.

I was offered this option:

Share multiple tabs

Visit the tabs tray by tapping the number next to the address bar, this number shows how many open tabs you have:
Tap the three-dot menu button in the tabs tray.
   Select Share all tabs.
The list of tabs to be shared will appear.

Visit the tabs tray - not very clear. by tapping the number next to the address bar - which number? I have more tabs that can fit across the screen and am not seeing any number/s.

Could someone help me with this please? I have a lot of migration to do.

Oh, just to let you know: The problem which made me want to do this is now resolved.

It is no longer a priority/need.

Thanks anyway.

Hi

I think you may have been looking at a guide for Firefox for Android.

This support article should help:

Thanks, but alas I guess I didn't ask the question correctly enough.

I want to migrate a LOT of windows/tabs between two profiles on the same machine.

Sorry.

The bottom line is I have an existing "profile" with a lot of windows and even more tabs which now doesn't work.

I made a new "profile" and it seems to be working.

I want to migrate all the windows/tabs form the now broken profile to the new one.

I'm sure it is possible, but I don't know how to do it at the nuts and bolts level. So I'm asking how to do it a few rungs higher on the knowledge ladder.

Though: If it is possible simply by copying files, I'd be interested. It is just I haven't found anything that tells me where the open windows/tabs are stored - other than somewhere in the profile directory.

If you want your existing Firefox setup with all the same tabs, bookmarks, passwords and add-ons, the easiest way to do it is to copy the Firefox profile across.

This support article should help:

Yes, but the problem with that is the profile is now broken and all/any logins are wiped next time I load firefox.

So, I've spent hours trying to find what broke it. Not me. It was working, firefox got an update and it stopped.

I've ported the bookmarks, but getting all the tabs/windows.... That is going to be fun.

Sorry for the confusion.

But: can you help me find/understand where/how the open windows/tabs are stored and I could slowly port them and hope nothing breaks while I'm doing that.
