Hello.

TL;DR: After changing my Google PW, I can no longer access my Gmail in Thunderbird.

TB: Thunderbird PW: Password

I use Gmail with Thunderbird ver. 102.3.3 on Windows 10, TB being downloaded from thunderbird.net

I changed the password to my Google Account earlier, and after that, I naturally had to change the password in Thunderbird for it to sync.

I use 2-factor auth on my Google account.

After typing in my email address and the password in the Thunderbird app and Thunderbird finding the account (It was set up for IMAP), a window normally pops up where I have to type in my email address and password again, and then click to grant Thunderbird access to my Google account. Normally, this isn't an issue, and I have always been able to log in this way.

However, after pressing "Allow access", I got an error saying that Thunderbird could not log in, and suggested that the account/password configuration was wrong. I tried logging in to Google in an Incognito windows using the new PW, so I knew I had typed in the correct one.

I even logged out and back in Google on my phone, just in case that the authentication on my phone was not sync'ed after the PW change. (Or something along those lines - I'm not sure about how that works)

I tried removing the PW stored in TB, and tried logging in again - no luck. I uninstalled and reinstalled TB and tried logging in - no luck.

I'm not sure what the next step should be. I'll try it on a new Win 10 install tomorrow, but in case that won't work as well - what do you suggest I do?

Let me know if you need more information.

Thanks in advance!

A suggestion: - go to tools>settings>privacy&security - click 'saved passwords' and then 'show passwords' - highlight BOTH rows for this account (incoming server and smtp server) and DELETE both. -shutdown and restart Thunderbird and attempt to login.
