I use FF 116 on windows 11. For months, I have had problems logging in to web sites. At first I thought the problem was with the web site, but I have come to the conclusion it is an FF problem. GlobeandMail.com, gem.cbc.ca and rbc.com for example ask for me to log in. I go through the steps giving my password and login name and the web site seems to accept these without complaint but it continues to want me to log in. I end up having to use Edge which works fine. Is there a solution?

Does turning Enhanced Tracking Protection off for those sites make any difference?

If not, have you tried clearing cookies and the cache for the specific websites that don't allow you to log-in?

Tracking Protection set to Strict is known to interfere with CBC login. You can switch to Standard protection or create an exception for the site.

Enhanced privacy protection did not make the difference, but deleting the cookies for that site fixed it. But when I go to my rbc.com banking site, it lets me log in but then takes me to a "Bad Request" screen.

A Bad Request error is caused by corrupted cookies.

Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies for websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Settings).

"Remove the Cookies" for websites that cause problems:

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data: "Manage Data"

"Clear the Cache":

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data -> Clear Data -> [X] Cached Web Content -> Clear

If clearing cookies doesn't help, it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder that stores the cookies got corrupted.
