Authentification
Thanks to the unnecessary and pointless meddling of Microsoft I am not unable to send or receive e-mails via Thunderbird. I constantly receive "log in failure message". When asked to re-enter the appropriate password I enter the never ending merry-go-round......I have 6 addresses. Whilst it is possible to access then via their specific accounts held with Microsoft this is time consuming, hence the preference of Thunderbirdb which up until now has been trouble free for approx 15 years. This unnecessary development makes me wonder why I only need a user naame aand password to access via Microsoft. I have tried every method kindly provided by other users to no avail. Can anyone provide the correct server setting for both IMAP and SMTP? As I have said these 'new' authentification/s are in my opinion tantamount to using a sledgehammer to crack a walnut. I hope my explantion makes sense? Surely I cannot be alone?

You posted this FIVE times. PLEASE STOP!!!
Hi David. The curtness of your response is un-called for. Since I was uncertain which category applies I sent my question to several. I make no apology for that. Given that I regularly use 6 different e-mail addresses for speific reasons Thunderbird is an extremely useful program. I notice you are a "Top 10 Contributor" so do you have any solution for me? Were it not for those idiots at Microsoft I would not have needed to 'pester' anybody.....! The insane irony is that I can still log into the appropriate Microdoft accounts be simply usuing my user name and password. Te enemy is the time required in doing so. Take care and stay safe............
No, it was not uncalled for. Throwing your issue out five times is disrespectful to the volunteers here. I already answered your question in one of your five posts. Take care. Sometimes, the Oauth2 doesn't take without a restart.
Let's keeps this in one support forum thread instead of five threads. See /questions/1466011
