When I installed Firefox 1.5+ on my new computer I customized my toolbars with the buttons. One of the toolbars a dont need much I want hidden but it always reappears in each new window or when restarting firefox. This did not do that on my old computer and it has the same ext, addons and buttons in the same order. It appears in the toolbar menus as checked, I "X" it out and it rechecks itself every-time it reappears.

Which toolbar is that?

It is one I called Editor as it has all the functions for translate, font edit size, ect, copy, C, P, Those kinds of things. It is a firefox made bar, bottom most of its own plus I have one installed lower but it did this before that bar was installed.

This sounds really good as afix but the losing my buttons is a pain but if a must.

I have a question , I have FEBE back up. If I save the profile, delete the file, let it regenerate, then restore my profile with the toolbar setting will that work or will it just re- corrupt it?

Thanks

You can try to rename localstore.rdf to localstore.rdf.sav to see if it works.

If that works then it is probably better to start anew and not use an old backup of localstore.rdf as that copy may contain data that is no longer used.

OK I had enough of the bad tool bar and followed the instructions. After deleting localstore.rdf all my items were removed and I had to start over. The only problem is IT DID NOT WORK. I lost all my toolbar buttons for nothing. Each time I make a custom bar they all are visible whether I want them to be or not. I deleted localstore 3 times, made new bars. same result. Will someone please tell me how to keep my custom toolbars hid when I start firefox. I did not have this problem in FF2. I have 3.5 now by the way not 1.5 as above. Typo i missed.

Man I hate upgrading and so far I hate FF3
