How can I maintain my IE Favorites order when importing them into Firefox?
I had rearranged all my favorites in IE8 in a particular order. I know how to maintain that order when transferring favorites to another computer, but how can I do it when importing the favorites into Firefox. Can my bookmarks be ordered as were my favorites.
The import function went OK except that I got this message repeatedly: A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.
Script: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsPlacesDBFlush.js:235

Export the Favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.
- Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html): File > Import and Export
- Import the HTML file in Firefox: Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File

Thanks. I get that, but when you do that IE exports the favorites in alphabetical order, not in the order they appeared in the favorites; thus, when I import them, the are not in the order they were but alphabetical.
When importing from one computer to another using IE, it is necessary to change one of the registry keys. Does that apply to Mozilla, and how do I do that?
