themes won't apply on Firefox Start page

I have Firefox 3.6.15. I added the browser backgrounds recently, and found that although I can download the themes, when I go to apply them to the start page, the top and bottom of the screen changes, but the main page is still white. Nothing changes there.

Themes don't affect the Start Page or any other webpage, they decorate the User Interface (Toolbars) not the content area of the browser window.

Oh okay. I had no idea. Thanks for the helpful response. Been going crazy trying to figure out how to change the Firefox Start page.
