Firefox doesn't use the Windows Favorites folder, but stores its bookmarks in an SQLite database file named places.sqlite.

Thanks cor-el for the time and information but it doesn't tell me how to add/delete items from the Bookmarks drop down menu to the Favorites menu opened from the Start menu.
