I don't mean the ability to see what tabs are open on another device (I know how to do this). But if I am at work and find something that I want to read at home, it would be helpful to 'send' the tab to my home PC so that when I return home, it will automatically open that tab for me.

Can anyone help?
That is not a standard feature of the Firefox Sync service. Any chance you had an add-on installed which provided that feature?
Are you syncing tabs?
You can go to "Tools > Options > Sync" to select what to sync.
- Add-ons - Bookmarks - Passwords - Preferences - History - Tabs (tabs expire after a week)
Pretty sure I didn't have an add-on specifically written to do that but perhaps it was a 'bonus' feature of one I had installed at the time.
Yes, I'm syncing tabs but am looking specifically for the ability to "send" a tab to another sync device so that it pops up to remind me to open it when I use that other device. Thanks.
This is still possible on Firefox Beta for Android, at least. I miss it on the desktop, however.
In Firefox for Android, when you are viewing a website you can open the menu and tap "Share". One of the sharing options will be "Firefox Sync". Choose that to open the "Send Tab To Devices" dialog. Your tab will then appear on the device once that device is synced.
There is an addon that lets you send tabs from the desktop: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/send-tab-to-device/versions/ (you might have to install version 0.6)
