Can't watch Netflix on latest version of Nightly, says I need Silverlight but nothing changes when I install it. Help?
I'm trying to use Netflix on the latest version of Firefox's Nightly browser. It tells me I need to install Silverlight, so I did, but it just gives the same Silverlight message. When I go to reinstall Silverlight, it says Silverlight is already installed. When I go to Silverlights page on Nightly (http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/get-started/install/default.aspx) it doesn't recognize that I have it installed. When I go there on Chrome, it tells me Silverlight 5 is successfully installed.
Any ideas? I really like Nightly and don't want to switch but it's annoying to open Chrome any time I want to watch Netflix.

Alright, I guess Firefox disables the Silverlight addon by default for some dumb reason. Works fine after enabling it.

Is it possible for you to use the regular version of Firefox (version # 23.0)?
I switched to regular Firefox and I'm having the same problem. Reinstalled Silverlight to no effect.

I don't see Silverlight on your plugins list. Can you verify?
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Plugins category
If it's still missing after several install attempts, make sure you haven't disabled plugin scanning. This preference is set as follows:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the filter box, type or paste scan and pause while the list is filtered
(3) If plugin.scan.plid.all is not set to true, double-click it to restore it to its default value of true.
You might need to exit and restart Firefox to trigger a fresh scan. Does that help?
Nightly builds (since they get updates almost everyday) should really be used more for testing then trying to use it as a stable everyday browser like a Release. If you want both then keep them in a separate folder and have a separate Profile for each as it should not be shared.
