I keep getting a grey block in the address bar. it says the flashplayer is blocked and I need to update. I updated and it is still blocked. I also hit enable
I get a grey block, it says the adobe flash player is blocked and needs upgraded. I have upgraded it and it still says blocked. it wont load the game, I have clicked enable to allow this website to run, but it still don't work. when I load the game on google chrome it loads fine.
how do i get rid of the grey block?

Try to un-install the flash player, Then go to Adobe.com and do a full install. After, restart Firefox and check your plug-ins. Firefox > Add-ons > Plug ins.
FredMcD, thanks for your suggestion, but alas it didn't work.
the webisite has always work in the past then firefox dicided it need to block it, now I have to use a different browser. I shouldn't have to do that.

Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that turns off some settings and disables most add-ons (extensions and themes).
(If you're using an added theme, switch to the Default theme.)
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu by clicking on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item:

Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"

To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.

when I go to the addon screen, plug-ins it says adobe 10.1.4.38 is vulnerable and should be updated. I have update and it still says this. on the website I want to use i have clicked allow and it still doesn't work
That is not about the Adobe Flash plugin, but the Adobe Reader plugin that handles PDF files.

Which version of the Flash plugin do you have?
You should see the full version of the Flash plugin in Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins and on the about:plugins page.
Note that Firefox may block all plugins by default and shows a Lego like button on the left end of the location bar

You can inspect and manage the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab via these steps:

- Click "More Information" to open Page Info

I have gone to the plug in manager, where it says vulnerable, update now. I have updated it and it still say vulnerable. I have clicked on the grey block and selected allow. this still does not work. it's very frustrating.
Did you try to update the Adobe Reader from within this program or its settings in the Windows Control Panel?
If you have the latest version of the Adobe Reader then you can ignore the warning on the plugin check website. Sometimes this website gets it wrong. This can especially happen if you are using an older Windows version that doesn't support the latest version of a program.

So if you are actually using Windows 7 and didn't started the thread with a Windows Vista computer then you should make sure not to run Firefox in compatibility mode. You can check that on the Compatibility tab in the Properties via the right-click context menu of the Firefox desktop shortcut.

i guess I'll have to use another browser to go to a website, that worked fine up until firefox updated.
You should be able to activate the Flash plugin via this shield icon on the location bar.
Does it work if you do this in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions" when a page that uses the Flash plugin in opened?
Some random thoughts:
Sometimes the Flash installer leaves behind an old version. This can cause issues with two Flash plugins. You can delete the older one physically from the drive, and after shutting down and restarting Firefox, the confusion should be cleared.
On Windows 7, the folder is either:
- 64-bit Windows: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
- 32-bit Windows: C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
The current file is named NPSWF32_11_9_900_170.dll. If there are older files starting with NPSWF32... and ending with DLL, you can delete those.
To update Adobe Reader, start up the Adobe Reader outside of Firefox and use Help > Check for Updates. You should get updated to something like 10.1.8. Firefox probably won't detect the change until the next time you exit and restart the browser.
