I have confirmed by un-installing 10.x and re-installed 3.6 (which I happened to have laying around) that the FIREFOX 10 will not allow me to play my Instant Queue NetFlix movies (I get a "minimum requirements nag screen from netflix instead of my movie.) However FIREFOX 3.6 loads and plays my netflix instant movie just fine. My system = WINDOWS 2003 SERVER SP2 x32bit.

Looks like it was a NETFLIX problem with the new user agent data. I called them a few days ago and brought this up to them and told them they needed to pass it onto their web guys. I bet a whole bunch of other people who upgraded to FIREFOX 10 called too. They must have figured it out. :-) I mark this as SOLVED and NOT FIREFOX problem (it had to have been a NetFlix user agent problem on their web site!) .

Hi webmistress32-

We're still trying to nail down this issue but I'm pretty sure if you run Firefox in 32-bit mode, Netflix will work. To do that:

  1. Quit Firefox. Go to the Firefox menu and select Quit.
  2. Open your Applications folder
  3. Find Firefox in the Applications folder and click it once to select it. Then press command + i on your keyboard. An information window will open up.
  4. In the Firefox information window, check the box next to Open in 32-bit mode
  5. Close the info window and restart Firefox

I was with you right up until Command + i .. I tried CTRL+I and shift+I and Alt+I and I get a whola lotta nothin'.

I am running a 32bit OS so not sure how relevant this answer might be, given that information.

An alternate way to get there is to Right click the application and select 'Get Info'- but you're right that that is not likely to help if you're already running in 32 bit mode. Another idea is to check your version of Silverlight, and upgrade to the most recent version:

I upgraded Silverlight and I am still having the same problem. I am still able to play the movies in my old 3.6.12 FIREFOX version.

I noticed that the HTTP:// User-Agent: values are different from 3.6.12 to 10.0 - Maybe NETFLIX is reading them differently and thinking my newer version of FIREFOX needs upgrading?

FIREFOX 10

I had this problem about a year ago...but it happened again.

I had installed the Add on "Masking Agent". That was my problem. I disabled it.

Netflix works fine now.
