It seems like it is malware that modifies various things on your computer including your shortcuts. You can right click on your desktop shortcut for Firefox and click "Properties" to verify this.

What kind of scans have your run and what were the results? Its hard to figure out next steps without knowing what specifically worked and what did not.

Also, have you checked your shortcut properties to make sure that nothing suspicious has been added to the Shortcut tab's Target line?

If you are still having trouble with this malware and none of the steps online work, it might be better to start a post on a forum specializing in malware removal as they would have sense of how bad the problem on your computer is and personalized steps for you to fix it.
