Web pages are 'washed out' and not presenting the usual foreground /background colors, logos, etc.

I did a complete uninstall - meaning all bookmarks, settings, etc, are deleted. A new install of Firefox did not change the outcome.

The problem was noticed when I went to wsj.com. Normally there is a 'banner' across the top quarter of the page that displays the links to the other pages. In this instance that is missing. Colors displayed in the Market Data Center under Overview tab (the DJIA chart) for example should show RED when the DJIA is falling (as it is right this moment). The problem persists across other sites as well.
