After SSL certificate installed in [root] of cpanel/whm host Firefox will no longer access any cpanel account... but IE8 will and says the SSL cert is OK. Help!

Hello Rdavis,

Ensure that Firefox has the default settings for OCSP connection failures:

At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button and then select Options

  • Click on the Advanced icon to open the Advanced panel.
  • Click on the Encryption tab.
  • Click on Validation. The Certificate Validation window will appear.
  • Make sure When an OCSP server connection fails, treat the certificate as invalid is not selected.
  • Close the Certificate Validation window.
  • Click OK to close the Options window

Workaround To work around the OCSP error, you may temporarily disable OCSP certificate validation.

At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button and then select Options

  • Click on the Advanced icon to open the Advanced panel.
  • Click on the Encryption tab.
  • Click on Validation. The Certificate Validation window will appear.
  • Click Use the Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP) to confirm the validaty of certificates to un-select it.
  • Close the Certificate Validation window.
  • Click OK to close the Options window
