Hi, Since an update about 2 weeks ago, Thunderbird constantly stops responding. (at least 10 times a day) I have to end task in task manager and start Thunderbird again.

Currently on 78.1.1. (this started 3 or 4 updates ago) Windows 10 and drivers up to date. Alienware 17 laptop.

HELP!!!! Thanks

What is your anti-virus software?

Hi christ1, Using Windows Defender and Malwarebytes - no change to that for more years than I care to remember. There have been Windows updates. Other than that, the only thing that changes was Thunderbird.

Hope you can suggest something - otherwise it's time to make a change and research other email clients, which I don't want to do.

Thanks, Susan

Try to start Windows in safe mode with networking enabled.

Still in Windows safe mode, start Thunderbird in safe mode. Does the problem go away?

Note, safe mode isn't the solution, it's a troubleshooting step.

Good chance this will be resolved with 78.2.0 in several days.
