I had a firefox account on my pc then i changed the windows version when i downloaded firefox on the new windows and logged in (i forgot the password so i had to reset) i cant find my old data i tried syncing note that i have changed windows alot and never faced this issue

Hey there! System: Windows 10 x64, Firefox Nightly.

Problem: Out of the blue, when I start Firefox Nightly (I think 2-3 days ago), it just crashed with no extra info. I see the "window of the update process", it goes to the middle or to the end, immediately closes and doesn't bring up the Crash reporter. However! When I tried to run a Nightly Installer that I downloaded through Chrome, it quietly runs and then just opens up my browser no problem, profile and all. I checked and it seems to be the exact same .exe file (according to the Task Manager).

So in short: it breaks if I run it straight from my usual shortcut, or with .exe. But if I run the installer myself, the browser opens up fine.

However, the installer didn't bring any new updates that would fix the problem, I have this for 2-3 days now, I don't remember. I start working, I see I didn't fix it and run the installer again.

Any ideas on the fix? I would love to not lose my profile, settings and, if possible, tabs. I'll try disabling all the extensions after I post this, I don't think they contribute, though (seeing how the external Firefox Nightly Installer opens up my browser just fine).

I'm taking nightly incremental backups of /home for example to my home storage server and, I guess, due to the databases Firefox uses for various storage, those can't be backed up by just copying them, if Firefox is running and has the database open.

What are the best practices, then, for ensuring all profile data, including these databases, is in a state where it can be backed up, while Firefox is running, in a way it can be restored to a fully functioning profile?

For example, with MySQL databases, you can dump the log before running the backup each night, which basically exports the SQL statements needed so you can skip backing up the actual binary database file (like ibdata1).  Does SQLite need something similar?  and is this the only special consideration that is needed, or are there other specialized types of data within our profile directories that can't be backed up by simply copying the data while Firefox is running?

Latest update (10/2/24) is impossible to use. How can I get back the prior version for Mac OS Sonoma 14.6.1 on my Macbook Air?

I have a TBI that really limits my ability to process information. The tabs now have a dropdown that is very confusing and gets in the way of my working. I have to shut Firefox and leave the computer, but of course when I am recovered from the confusion, I come back to the same situation.

I was able to find a way to stop the even-more-frustrating dropdown video preview, but it's not enough.

I have relied on FF for years, but it seem that putting more bells & whistles is more important than providing a functional browser interface. Please explain to me in plain English how to remove the overloaded browser and revert to a version I can utlize without a breakdown.

Suite a un nettoyage avec CCLANER sur mon PC je ne voie plus mes mots de passe sur mon navigateur .

J'ai pourtant option "mots de passe enregistrer" est bien désactiver sur cclaner

en regardant dans mon profile je vois bien mes fichier logins.json et key4.db et je vois bien mes identifiants crypter à l’intérieur .

Je ne sais pas quoi faire j'ai des donnée inestimable .

how do i permanently disable the tab preview on hover? after every update i have to go back in and reset it to 'false'... it's totally annoying and a hindrance to productivity due to the distraction... any help with this would be most welcome, thanks in advance -

For many years I have used Firefox as my browser, and I have also used the Bank of America online banking service. Until yesterday, there were no problems with this pairing.

Yesterday, I was able to log on to my B of A account, but I ran into trouble when I attempted to go from their home page to their bill paying service. I was unable to continue and received this message:

"Why can't I access Bill Pay? You might have cookies blocked or cross-site tracking prevented. Depending on what browser you're using, check your settings for these terms. *Block third party cookies. *Cookie tracking. *Cross-site tracking. Make sure cookies are not blocked and cross-site tracking in enabled. Follow any additional instructions in your browser once you have adjusted these settings."

I have been able to verify that a Firefox update was successfully installed on October 3, 2024 at 12:48:08 PM. The update numbers are 131.0 (20240923135042).

Because of the timing, I suspect that this latest update somehow impacted my Bank of America online account.

I do not know how to proceed to accomplish the required modifications that would enable me to continue using all of the features on my B of A account.

I am currently on 133.0a1 (2024-10-04) (64-bit) Nightly and the new tab button to the right of the tabs is missing. It will show up sometimes, but I have to go to customize and move some things around, then start browsing and it will pop back up.

I use that button often, how do I get that back?

131 installed. I now cannot read article in newspaper I subscribe to on line. Click 'read more 'and get warning notice pop up that I need to disable ad blocker or have no internet connectivity. Does not happen on Safari so not the newspaper or my Mac or the internet connection. Did happen trying to reach my bank account also. Did not happen before new version. I do not want to use SAFARI. IS this a bug in program? Is this because a few weeks ago I set no tracking feature and no selling data? Those seemed to have slowed performance but did not cause alert message preventing access. As elderly person, this is frustrating and scary and upsetting. Help appreciated. Wish Firefox had a place where users like me could list this sort of problem so we could feel like Firefox knew what we were experiencing when new version happens.. my extensions got unpinned and the new tab button is gone, the tab overview is gone, the extension button is to the left of the address bar, the back and forward buttons are to the left of the address bar, the back and forward button are swapped, WHY.

In the screenshot i pinned the 3 extesions i use again, they were unpinned before

Something new: Last week when loading titantv.com Firefox crashed. Repeatedly. Sometimes before page completely loaded. Sometimes after loading and scrolling down page. Continues to crash every time I try to load that page.
