Made all changes demanded by Verizon & now T-Bird won't work

Verizon shut down their old servers forcing me to make changes to my Thunderbird email server info. Everything is as they demand - incoming is pop.verizon.net SSL enabled port 995 and outgoing is smtp.verizon.net ssl enabled port 465. Thunderbird is now unable to connect. No change to login or password, so that should not be an issue. Both incoming and outgoing time out.

My wife just changed something on our router, and that solved the problem. Not sure why it worked before and then didn't, but problem solved.
