I can get messages but I can not send ! The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.gmail.com failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing Outgoing server (SMTP) connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.

Also with Hotmail, gmail, yahoo emails I get this error !

That sounds like your anti virus has died a horrible death and is killing Thunderbird as it dies.
