I have reinstalled several times and have used the "repair folder" option for my inbox, which deleted 6 months worth of emails that I now can't retrieve.

I have done everything mentioned in the help forums and even tried to copy my profile, completely delete Thunderbird and reinstall both the latest version as well as earlier versions and have had no luck.

Thunderbird worked flawlessly until this last release. Now I fear I will need to start using another client.

I've attached a photo of my computer screen after one of the Thunderbird freezes that froze the entire system.

By your brief description, you have a hardware or software problem where Thunderbird is the victim. So reinstalling isn't going to help.

What AV software (and similar software) do you run? Does the problem go away if you start WINDOWS in safe mode? - win7 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17419/windows-7-advanced-startup-options-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-7
