Sometimes when I do a google search the results come up in a foreign language! I am in the USA and speak only english. Changing my preferences doesn't always maintain the fix.

Google may switch languages depending on where you connect from. Normally, this is your home, office, public hotspot, etc., but it can be modified with a proxy or VPN. Do you know whether you are connecting through a proxy or VPN that routes your requests through a different country?

As a quick check:

There are a number of sites that provide information on the results of an IP address lookup. You might already have found one but just in case: https://nordvpn.com/what-is-my-ip/ (Obviously they promote their VPN product, but please ignore that for now.) Does it show the expected location?
