Why do I not have "permissions" to save firefox? I am not on any network etc
I had to update firefox to use a site - webs.com and when I did it now says firefox 3.6 is unuseable and the new one I don't have permissions to use.

If you get an error message that you do not have sufficient permissions or have problems with updating then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop
- Firefox 4.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
- Firefox 3.6.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
- Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
- Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.
Only thing is for some reason it won't let me delete the old one - I have tried every way - I am on a mac. I haven't tried reinstalling 3.6 though. I am so frustrated I could scream - thanks.
Still says that I don't have permissions to access all the necessary whatevers. UGH!!!
Did you try repair the permissions?
