Firefox is redirecting me to url for an "old" frequently visitied url, even when I type in the new url. I have cleared the cache, history and all cookies associated with the old site, and it still redirects me to the old site.

When I type in www.barkingcarnival.com (the new url), I still get directed to the old site (http://barkingcarnival.fantake.com). This only happens on a computer where the old site has been visited frequently in the past. Cache cleared, history deleted, cookies related to old domain have been deleted. How do I get rid of this pointer or redirection?

Try to flush the DNS cache.

Open a cmd.exe window: Start > Run: cmd.exe Use this command to Purges the DNS Resolver cache: ipconfig /flushdns

It is also possible that your ISP haven't updated the DNS servers if there has been a recent change. You can try to contact them about this.
