When I open a new tab, the "newtab" page appears for less than half a second, then disappears and a blank page shows. I've tried everything I could find in the help section.l I'm using 13.0 and have just upgraded. I treid the "newtab url" addon; I tried the the "about:config" solution.

Chosen solution

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Thank you! It was the Elf community toolbar that was causing the problem. I'm not even sure how that got on to begin with :)
