In the last few days, as I open Firefox, in Linux Debian, I get a pop-up about Amazon S3 (cloud service - I think an advert to sell disc space in the cloud). I hit the cross to delete it, and it disappears, but randomly and infrequently, it pops up again. I have no pop-ups shown, nor add-ons that can account for this. (However my Debian file manager shows the following ... /usr/share/media-player-info/amazon_kindle.mpi /usr/lib/icedove/searchplugins/amazondotcom.xml /etc/iceweasel/searchplugins/locale/en-US/amazondotcom.xml. I do not know if these are anything to do with S3 (it seems unlikely), or if they are needed, or why they do not appear in the list of plug-ins in Firefox. The essential point is that I do not want Amazon S3, and I will be grateful if you can instruct me as to how to get rid of this intrusion permanently. DocTom.
