Getting new Mac, but forgot my Firefox password. Can I change my password and still have all the data on the new Mac?

more options

I am getting a new computer, but I forgot my Firefox password. If I reset the password, it seems that I will lose all the sync info, links, passwords, etc. Is this correct?

And if it is correct, what is difference between resetting your password and just deleting your account? Seems like in either case, I would be starting from scratch.

I think if you change your password, you can keep using the same email address. If you delete your account, you might not be able to use the same email address for a new one.

Consider making a manual backup, for example, on an external hard drive or other removable media: Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles.
