When I open a webpage which is in French, how can I get Firefox to askme if I want the webpage translated into English? Firefox used to open a strip at the top of the webpage which allowed me to click yes to translate the page. Firefox 3.6.13 does not do this now. I have found that Translation Add-On's do not do the trick easily. Any ideas please?

That has never been a built-in option of Firefox but would have been added by an extension. Did you ever have the Google toolbar installed, that had an option to translate pages.

If you do not want the Google toolbar, the Google Dictionary and Google Translate extension adds an entry to the tools menu to translate a page - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/google-dictionary-and-google-t/

Thanks very much, that has resolved my problem. I found that I had disabled the Google toolbar option in my add-on's. I enabled it, and the auto translate now works. What a useful forum and what a speedy reply! Thanks again for the info.

Hi TonyE Everything is usable again now. Thanks to your info above. I have one further problem you may be able to help with. Before this version I could choose where to forward a link to g mail, blog etc Now the only way I seem to be able to do it is click file send link. Yes it works but defaults to my normal e mail; address. Sometimes I like to use one of my different e mail addresses and keep the other one for friends. Any Ideas please?
