google translate opens with a previous translation

When I open Google Translate in Firefox, it defaults to a page I translated 2 years ago. This relates to a personal health problem, so anyone opening Translate on this computer can see it. No other translations before or since have been saved in this way. Removing cookies etc does not help. Opening Translate in Chrome or IE does not give this problem. I would rather not remove Firefox and change browser, but will have to do so if I cannot sort it out since quite a few people use this computer. Anyone got a fix?

Chosen solution

Bookmark the direct link. And clear your browser history. Then no more 'painful details' should come up when typing "translate" into the URL bar.

How exactly do you open Google Translate in Firefox?

thanks for commenting. I type "translate" into the address bar and it comes up, in a drop down menu, with various suggestions of which the first is the phrase I translated 2 years ago. I don't know where they history of things I have translated previously is stored but I would like to delete it. (incidentally, if I type "maps" into the address bar, it automatically suggets a link to Google maps which opens at a place I visited at around the same time!)

What happens when you use the direct link, and not an arbitrary search from your history? https://translate.google.com/

Make sure that you do not have bookmarked a page that includes POST data or has GET data (?xxx=xxx) appended to its location field.

You can remove the current bookmark and create a new bookmark.

There is nothing like this in my bookmarks menu.

Thanks Chris. If I use the direct link, I get a new blank page (which is what I want), but if someone else on this computer were to type "translate" into the address bar he/she would immediately obtain some painful details of my past medical history translted into Italian, and it is this that I would like to remove!
