Thunderbird has stopped working
I was prompted for a Thunderbird update. After the update, I attempted to start Thunderbird and got a pop up reading "Thunderbird has stopped working"
with this detail: roblem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: thunderbird.exe Application Version: 60.7.0.7101 Application Timestamp: 5d001def Fault Module Name: thunderbird.exe Fault Module Version: 60.7.0.7101 Fault Module Timestamp: 5d001def Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 0001fd80 OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48 Locale ID: 4105 Additional Information 1: 0a9e Additional Information 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 Additional Information 3: 0a9e Additional Information 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789
Nor sure how to proceed.
Chosen solution
simply reinstalling would be the simplest solution. Thunderbird does not remove setting or data when you reinstall, unlike products from Microsoft. It makes reinstalling simple.
Usually it also does not fix anything but windows and anti virus problems. In this case however as the not responding is a windows message I suggest reinstalling.

Hello there cdndeuce.
We have read your message.
We try To help you.
Hello there, it could be that your thunderbird app has crashed for certain reasons.
Try to start the program in safe mode of your pc computer.
If there is no change, an adonn that you use may contain a bug.
First try restarting the thunderbird software in safe mode.
Then I will hear from you again.

Thanks you for your help!
I booted into safe mode but got the same pop up witf the same crash details as outlined above and here:
Application Name: thunderbird.exe Application Version: 60.7.0.7101 Application Timestamp: 5d001def Fault Module Name: thunderbird.exe Fault Module Version: 60.7.0.7101 Fault Module Timestamp: 5d001def Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 0001fd80 OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48 Locale ID: 4105 Additional Information 1: 0a9e Additional Information 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 Additional Information 3: 0a9e Additional Information 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789
I have taken a screen print and attached it.
I have also backed up my profile file e.g. xxxxxxxx.default
I also forgot to mention that I don't have an addons.
Additional Information:
I installed Thunderbird from scratch on my wife's laptop and replace the roaming/Thunderbird folder form my backup and it appears to identical when started.
I'd prefer not to uninstall then reinstall if there might be another solution.
Thanks again.
