Why does Firefox disappear from desktop and computer, a day after downloading?

I download and get an icon on the desktop and on the bottom menu. If I click on the icon on the desktop, a text box on the screen with two options: "Firefox" and "Apps". If I click on Firefox, the browser opens. If Aps, I go to App Store for no apparent reason.

After 1-2 days, all icons disappear and I cannot find them anywhere.

Hi, Since Mozilla Firefox does not have a Apps Store this is for a phone which this site does not support or I would consider giving your self a scan if you downloaded it anywhere but a Official Mozilla site. https://www.malwarebytes.com/mac/

If using a cleaner program that could also be a issue.

Please download from here : https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

Please see this to learn how to properly install Firefox on Mac OSX. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-download-and-install-firefox-mac

Besides making sure you are installing Firefox correctly, another possibility is you have something that is reverting your setup to an earlier set state.

This is on Mac OSX so the OP is referring to the Mac App Store. https://www.apple.com/ca/osx/apps/app-store/
