Firefox 22 crashes even after Flash update and Extensions Removed

FF22 has been crashing a lot lately, 24 times in just 10 days, 7 times in one day alone. I ran FF in Safe Mode and the problem did not appear for the time it was in Safe Mode. After researching the problem, I updated my Flash to the latest version and I removed several newer extensions which were not necessary and which, being newer, I felt might have contributed to the problem.

Things have definitely been better since making those changes but I am still getting the occasional crash.

Here are my crash reports for evaluation. I am hoping that someone who knows how to read the crash reports will discover in them and be able to tell me what exactly is causing the crash so I may do something about it.

Thank you!

Hello,

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.

You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).

Then perform these steps:

  • Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
  • In the Firefox options window click the Advanced tab, then select "General".
  • In the settings list, you should find the Use hardware acceleration when available checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
  • Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

" I ran FF in Safe Mode and the problem did not appear for the time it was in Safe Mode"

You may also wanna check your addons and see if they are causing problems.

I meant to include in my post that my hardware acceleration has always been disabled and I have kept only those extensions which I have had since prior to installing FF22.

I would appreciate someone looking at the crash reports, specifically the most recent two, to see if there is a clue in there which would indicate the specific problem.

Thank you!

I have checked my Add-Ons. I am only hearing about possibilities about which I have already read in my research and checked before submitting my post. I am looking for new answers.

firefox safe mode does the following according to Mozillazine

  1. All extensions are disabled.
  2. The default theme is used, without a persona.
  3. The Just-in-time (JIT) JavaScript compiler is disabled.
  4. The userChrome.css and userContent.css files are ignored.
  5. The default toolbar layout is used.
  6. Hardware acceleration is disabled.

so one of these must be your problem

You could also have malware on your system.

Check with all above.

My Windows is updated on a regular basis. I have just checked it manually and it is up-to-date. I run malware and spyware programs every week and my system is clean.

Try windows in safe mode "windows safe mode"

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-vista

but firefox in regular mode when youre in it

And there are no updates for my graphics card. If one of my extensions or a theme/persona, etc. were incompatible with FF22, wouldn't I be made aware of that when I installed FF22 as I have been when installing previous versions?
