For several weeks now I have been using the beta Firefox Translate fuction. As from todays beta update 117.0b8 the option to translate Russian to English has been removed. Is there any specific reason for this removal? I have had to go back to Chrome and Edge to use atuomatic translation. Even Brave offers Russian language translation!

This extension may suit you. I don't know what is happening with Mozilla's extension.

We're actually not going to ship with Russian initially due to quality concerns.

From Bug 1846567.

Not surprising. The quality of the Russian to English auto translate was utterly atrocious when compared to Chrome, Edge and Brave. Quite embarassing actually. One hopes that the accuracy and quality of Russian to English auto translate will be significantly improved if/ when it's re-intriduced on Firefox.
