'Application Firefox blocked from accessing graphics hardware'. New Dell XPS 13 (late 2017 version), updated all drivers.
Brand new Dell XPS 13 laptop, Windows 10, get this recurrent message when scrolling over videos that preview in Facebook. When it happens it then buggers up Google maps display also. Can 'fix' by turning off hardware acceleration, but if I need to do that I might as well use Chrome. Same pages fine on Chrome. Updated video drivers as a search for this issue suggested (using either Dell or Intel tool) to no avail. Only had this system a week so no legacy issues and no 'rollback' really to do. Thanks in advance

What happens if you disable ublock?
Will try when home. If works would still consider it a bug, especially as no issues running ublock and Chrome. I am betting won't be the answer but will definitely try it, thanks.
HI, it could have been the use of the Stub Installer you installed with Please uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files , C:\Program Files(x86) & C:\ProgramData Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 61.0.0 with a Full Version Installer
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
Thanks for replies but neither disabling ublock nor a delete and full version install of Firefox made any difference. Looks like Chrome for me for now until this gets fixed with driver or firefox version updates.
When you post the info about your stuff like that instead of when answering the questions and let Support Website handle it we do not see if there are any errors in your Video Card Drivers. Please do that for next question you may have.
You have 1 Crash Report. please follow instructions re the bp- as that is needed. The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.
- Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
- Copy the 5 most recent Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.
Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.
(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)
Thank you for your help!
More information and further troubleshooting steps can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) article.

Hi, Crash Reason : @0x0 | igd11dxva64.dll | CSampler::GetDesc crash refers to : Intel Video Card Drivers : igd11dxva64.dll
1 crash is forced shut down, no info. 2 are the above.
As mentioned did not see the state of your drivers. Pleas uninstall and reinstall or uninstall and get a current release of your video card drivers. That should be the it. If do not know how to search for your drivers on Intel then please use below:
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
I had already updated the drivers using both the Dell and the Intel tool, before I posted the question. It did not solve the problem. I redid it again with a direct download from the Dell site (the Intel UHD 620 driver for the XPS 13 9360 is device-specific not just generic Intel), no change. I think I am stuck until Dell updates the driver.
Hi, can give this a try as last gasp attempt : uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files , C:\Program Files(x86) & C:\ProgramData Then restart system.
