Thunderbird wont recognize imap account
I have installed thunderbird on a new laptop. I was having a problem getting mail and getting an error that i had exceeded cached connections. after having no luck fixing that through forum advice i uninstalled thunderbird, reinstalled and attempted to add my email accounts back in. I am using imap for zoho hosted emails. I go to create the account with the exact same settings, user names and passwords as are used on my phone and as were used on my previous installed version of thunderbird an hour ago but every single email is giving me an error that thunderbird failed to recognize my settings, possibly my user name or password are incorrect. neither are incorrect... thunderbird is becoming a lot more trouble than it's worth.

re: exceeded cached connections
Mozilla Thunderbird has e default limit of 5 simultaneous connections. However, some mail servers allow only a lower number of simultaneous connections. When the limit set by the server is reached, the above, or similar, error message might be encountered.
Sounds like you had reached the server limit. Read info at link below for a fuller explanation.
In order to resolve the issue, you will need to lower the number of connections allowed by your e-mail client in order to ensure, that the limit set by the server is never reached.
The connection settings in Mozilla Thunderbird : Tools >Account Settings>Server Settings>Advanced>IMAP >Maximum Number of Server Connections to Cache

Wada - see comment 9 at this link for a good explanation of what occurs when the server sends you that message: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=561055

re: account settings
I have no idea what settings you have set up as you need to post the info: In Thunderbird Help > Troubleshooting Information click on 'copy text to clipboard' then paste the info into this question. You can edit/remove info on fonts and printers as this is not required in your case, but do not edit anything else.
Username = full email address Password = same as the one you use to access webmail account.
Things to double check: check for Typos and use of a comma instead of full stop. Hidden blank space at start or end of eg:Username. Test by putting the mouse pointer cursor at begining of email address and use the right arrow key to move to the end, if you can move it another blank space then use backspace key to remove the blank space and click on OK to save changes.
