New install of ff15 always crashes in less than a minute
After way too much pestering, I upgraded from a product that worked, ff3.6, to one that doesn't, ff15. It upgraded 3 plugins. Now when I open ff, it doesn't matter if I try to actually use it or just sit and look at a blank page, it crashes in 30 seconds or so. Try going through that more than 20 times on a fresh install! Using XP. But that gave me the excuse to try Chrome, and I've found that it's very stable and much, much faster. And of course, I'm using Chrome now to send this message.

OK, I found out that kdump.dll is also used by Kingsoft PC Doctor. I disable Kingsoft PC Doctor, and I was able to use Firefox normally.
I have similar setup in the office where I use Windows 7, so far no issue ..
Office Setup OS: Windows 7 Pro SP1 FF: 15.01 Kingsoft PC Doctor 3.7, Antivirus 2012 (Cheetah) SP5.0
Home: OS Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 FF: 15.01 Kingsoft PC Doctor 3.31.9 (with security option build in) - Latest
Since at home the Kingsoft was installed first.
So it means that Firefox may have change its use of kdump.dll

Some system details might be helpful if you actually want to figure out why the crash occurred.
If not, it's noted you had problems and now are a Chrome user.
They each have their strengths - and weaknesses. What details would you like?
Hi, I'm no expert on the latest FF releases, especially v15, but I've dealt enough with computers to know that some system stats are critical; from the amount of RAM to free HDD space, to the update of the OS (I presume you're fully updated on XP), the plugins being used, any unusual drivers or software, etc (even AV software).
I am curious about the later releases of FF, myself, because I've been away so long. I used to love FF more than any other browser, bar none, but jumped off the bandwagon when several of the new releases of FF, last year, had the bugs I might have predicted with a "rapid release" approach.
I would love to think FF finally got it together and started fixing bugs faster than they added new ones, but posts like yours catch my attention.
I'm sure Mozilla did at least enough testing to ensure it worked more than it failed, but I wonder if there are some programs or OSes which cause it problems.
I'm hoping if you post those stats, someone with knowledge or similar experiences will come by and post their thoughts.
We're sorry to hear that your Firefox seems to be crashing. Please perform the following steps to give us a crash report ID that helps us find out more about the cause of the crash.
- Enter about:crashes in the Firefox location bar (that's where you enter your website names) and press Enter. You should now see a list of submitted crash reports.
- Copy the most recent 5 report IDs that you see in the crash report window and paste them into your forum response.
Thanks in advance for your help!
More information and further troubleshooting steps can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) article.
I wish I could help, but the only crash reports I have are from long ago. So I went through the process of letting it freeze/crash 5 more times today, and submitted all the requests to report them. But they must have gone to Windows, because there's nothing new on my list. Now what to do?
There is no crash report .. When I look at about:crashes what ere shown are crashes several weeks ago ..

I believe this constitutes a valid example of an infuriating problem?
edit: if it helps, I spent most of that time TRYING to browse Planetside 2 beta forums. But it is still crashing peridically and I no longer have any of the same tabs open.
