I recently upgraded my pc from windows 7 to windows 10 , big mistake I have lost most of my stuff that I had saved , I have also lost my email server and all saved emails etc for Mozilla. I have tried reinstalling this which has worked but can't seem to log into account. I have tried setting up new account also but its just saying either password or user name is incorrect . I would like to know if there is anyway I could get all emails saved etc back if its a matter of just logging into my acount or do I have to set up a new one ? I am trying to get emails from a different email address i,e btconnect address.

Did you choose one of the options for Windows 10 preserving your data (e.g., reset, refresh, or possibly similar terms)? You can check for a folder named

C:\Windows.old\Users\your-username\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird

If you do not immediately see AppData, make sure Windows shows hidden files and folders. To change that setting, see this article (hopefully it's similar in Windows 10): http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hidden-files

Can you find it?
