I have hit "save" when the "do you want to save password" pop up appears many times, but for some reason when I check my logins in about:logins, there is nothing. I tried to manually save a login information with Create New Login, but it tells me "An error occurred while trying to save this password".

That didn't do anything. I ended up just resetting my profile and now it works again.

Are there currently any logins visible on the about:logins page ?

It is possible that there is a problem with the logins.json (encrypted logins) and key4.db (key file; encryption key) files. You can try to rename/remove both files to see if that allows to store new logins. You lose existing logins, so you need to write them down or create a CSV backup.

You can use the button on the "Help -> More Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page (Root directory).
