BCC default instead of TO
Thunderbird needs an update or extension which allow BCC to be the default, instead of TO. There USED TO BE such an extension, but it has not been upgraded and it, therefore, incompatible with the newer versions of Thunderbird. Use BCC instead of C doesn't address the problem. Having the working BCC instead of TO extension is what brought me to using Thunderbird in the first place.

If you set the option 'When Composing Mail' as in the attached picture, Bcc is the default.

The name of the extension let me to believe that it only substituted for "C"opy, not "To".
