Keeps adding a bookmark when I open it (100's)! Also won't update my password even when I ask for another. Anyone from Mozilla out there that can get an answer?

Whenever I open a site from my bookmarks it adds it again - like 100's of times. I had saved my password and user name with lastpass with pbossman@charter.net. Wouldn't recognize the password. When I clicked to change on a new link -- make the changes it still wouldn't recognize it. Clicked the link again and same thing - wouldn't take the updated password. Sent a question/suggestion and the submit button didn't seem to do anything. Finally created a new account. Mozilla used to work great until your last updates - now it's crap. Is there a real person at Mozilla that MIGHT have an understanding of what is wrong?

Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.

You can try to check and repair the places database with this extension:

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

At one point in time I had the same problem, such as the browser not saving bookmarks.

As well, trying to use the steps for restoring bookmarks, in firefox 3.6.28 not only did not work to restore bookmarks, or browser settings, but seemed to corrupt firefox to the point it would not restart, These troubleshooting steps originate from the locations listed bellow (Mozilla, n.d.).
The easiest solution I could come up with is to uninstall firefox without deleting user settings then reinstall the correct version.
